However, expectations of two interest rate cuts by <a href=\"https:\/\/marketcheese.com\/indicator\/us-fed-interest-rate-decision\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">the Federal Reserve<\/a> (Fed) in 2025 are limiting the US currency&#8217;s growth potential.<\/p><p><br><\/p><p>The Canadian dollar, on the other hand, is under pressure after Canadian inflation fell to 1.8% in December. This increases the likelihood of further interest rate cuts by <a href=\"https:\/\/marketcheese.com\/indicator\/ca-boc-interest-rate-decision\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">the Bank of Canada<\/a>. Investors are expecting the US central bank to keep its key interest rate in the range of 4.25\u20134.50%.<\/p><p><br><\/p><p>Uncertainty over the US tariff policy and the Fed&#8217;s future actions are keeping traders cautious.<\/p><p><br><\/p><p>From a technical point of view, the <a href=\"https:\/\/marketcheese.com\/symbol\/usdcad\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">USDCAD price<\/a> is showing the formation of an expanding sideways range on the H4 timeframe. This movement confirms the uncertainty in the market. The divergence of the Relative Strength Index (RSI) indicates that the price may continue to fluctuate within this range, as the recent bounce from the support line has pushed the price towards the resistance.<\/p><p><br><\/p><p><strong>Signal:<\/strong><\/p><p>Short-term prospects for <strong>USDCAD <\/strong>suggest <strong>buying<\/strong>.<\/p><p>The <strong>target <\/strong>is at the level of <strong>1.4485<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Part of the profit should be taken near the level of 1.4395.<\/p><p>A stop-loss could be placed at the level of 1.4245.<\/p><p><br><\/p><p>The bullish trend is short-term, so trade volume should not exceed 2% of your balance.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Market analysis by financial analysts and experienced traders.
